Making the Right Choice

Getting the right speaker for your event can be tricky. The problem is often one of matching a speaker to the audience. If you’re running an event for your sales team, you might imagine that a good motivational speaker could be the right option for you. What they might be thinking (especially after a couple of drinks) is: “I hope it’s someone funny.”

On the other hand, if your people are good at enjoying themselves, but not delivering the goods and you need a subtle way to get them to start picking things up, a good motivational speaker can start a buzz that transforms your near-term performance.

If you have someone specific in mind, then remember that they’re probably very much in demand and might have other commitments. Good speakers normally have very little trouble filling their diary so plan well in advance, and try to think of several names you might like to book instead.

If you haven’t got anyone in particular in mind, just a budget and a vague sense of what you want, it makes sense to speak to an agency like us and see what they recommend. A good agency (like us!) will know their speakers inside out and should be able to tell from your requirements who will suit your event or function.

There are many things that contribute to the success of a particular speech or appearance. Some performers are at their best in front of the energy that only comes from a big crowd. Other performers can light up a more intimate stage and hold the attention of everyone in the room.
